Senior Structural Design Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Structural Design Engineer to join our team for deployment on projects in Malaysia. You'll be responsible for the analysis and design of industrial structures, reinforced concrete and structural steel systems, ensuring compliance with international design standards and project requirements.

This role offers exceptional opportunities to work on complex, large-scale industrial projects using Eurocodes and internationally recognized design standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Structural analysis and design for industrial facilities including RCC foundations, equipment foundations, RC buildings, and steel structures
• Design of steel pipe racks and equipment platforms
• Develop structural models, perform analysis, and prepare detailed design calculations
• Prepare and review structural calculation reports
• Provide design mark-ups and technical guidance to draughtspersons for drawing preparation
• Review and check detailed engineering and shop drawings
• Respond to Requests for Information (RFIs) from construction sites and fabricators
• Conduct site visits for inspection and implementation of designs
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
• 8–10 years of proven experience in structural analysis and design
• Demonstrated expertise in industrial structures and facilities
• Strong knowledge of reinforced concrete and structural steel design
• Proficiency in structural analysis software: STAAD.Pro, ETABS, SAP2000, or Prota
• Solid understanding of Eurocodes and related design standards
• Knowledge of seismic design principles and relevant regulations
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in dynamic foundation analysis and design
• Knowledge of American design standards (ACI, AISC, ASCE)
• Experience in structural connection design and detailing
• Familiarity with BIM workflows and Revit
